I think you meant to say innocent until proven guilty, but I think I understand your point.

First of all I am so sorry about your fiancée’s situation and I apologize if reading this was in any way triggering. I will include a warning next time.

I don’t have the answers, I’m a feminist but not a great one. I’m not the most well versed in the literature, or the politics. I can only write my own experience and perceptions. Many of the the issues I talked about are systematic, a result of culture and processes that make up the fabric of our society. It’s tough work dismantling social constructs and getting rid of our own biases. Sometimes they’re so hard to see.

Still, I think starting these types of dialogues is incredibly healthy, as long as we’re respectful to one another.
